TNT Launches New Electric Hybrid Trucks
As part of the ‘Planet Me’ campaign which TNT has launched in defense of the environment, new environment strategies have begun to practically lead their way into some of the major countries around the world… TNT has recently launched new electric hybrid trucks as a replacement of the traditional diesel trucks.
In London TNT has agreed on an 18-month partnership with Smith Electric Vehicles, during which, new 100-strong fleet of battery-powered ‘Newton’ delivery trucks will replace diesel equivalents. These trucks will spare England’s cities and towns 1,299,000 kilograms of CO2.
Another trial began between TNT and Dong Feng Motor Co., where two battery-electric delivery vans will be roaming the city of Wuhan, China.
TNT Express Australia also introduced 10 Hino hybrid trucks, therefore becoming the first business in Australia to replace conventional vehicles with a fleet of diesel-electric hybrid, emitting 14 percent less CO2 and 50 percent less nitrous oxides. The new trucks will decrease TNT’s greenhouse gas emissions by an average of 1,600 kilograms of CO2 a year per vehicle. |
